Our Team

Alistair Deakin, Chief Executive Officer and President

Alistair began his career with dreams of becoming a modern day Atticus Finch. After working for Legal Services in Atlanta, he quickly branched into a management capacity with organizations that had a strong social mission. He has been working within software and technology companies that serve health and human organizations since 1999.

In 2007, Alistair was invited by the KaleidaCare investors to consider becoming CEO. He was so impressed, he bought the company. He knew there was a significant need for an affordable, easy to implement, easy to use software system that brought immediate benefit to agencies in the field of child and family services. Today at KaleidaCare, his primary work is to set and properly resource the strategic plan of the company in line with the future of child and family services, and the current needs of agencies. Alistair works to promote best practices throughout Child and Family Services, both through his support of KaleidaCare and as a speaker and consultant within the field. He somehow also finds time to enjoy his 3 children, his family in England, Mexico and South Korea, and indulging his favorite addiction Manchester City ‘football.’

Kelly Stepura, Vice President of Product Development

Kelly is KaleidaCare’s longest serving employee. Through her time at KaleidaCare, she has earned her PhD in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin, demonstrating her commitment to the field. Kelly’s focus in the field is on increasing the human services industry’s ability to provide training, information, and resources for social workers. She plans to continue her efforts toward improving the lives children and families through technology, making resources more accessible and useful for the field. Her gift is understanding the true needs of agencies and children, and being able to translate that into technical specifications. She writes code for fun, but you might also find her playing the piano or running along the Greenbelt in Austin. You want her on your trivia team.

Chip Bolyard, Director of Account Management

Chip & KaleidaCare go together like Sonny & Cher, Peanut & Butter, Tom & Jerry, you get the idea. Chip began using KaleidaCare as a customer in 2000. After perfecting his skills and mastering the System Administrator role, he joined the KaleidaCare Account Management team. Through many product enhancements and customers, Chip is still the heart of the KaleidaCare customer experience. With the history, excitement, and dedication he has, Chip deeply cares about the KaleidaCare experience. His BS and MSW in Social Work from West Virginia University (he is a very proud alumni), his skill set and understanding of the customer experience combine to make him an extremely valuable employee and partner to customers.

Chip's view on serving KaleidaCare's customers: "Having been a customer, I understand the importance of prompt and effective assistance. I try to provide the same level of service that I would expect. Social Services Workers' jobs are tough enough; and our job at KaleidaCare is to make the experience of entering and retrieving information on their clients as easy as possible."

Jenna Kitley, Director of Sales

Jenna has been with KaleidaCare for over 4 years helping new agencies see the KaleidaCare light. She strongly believes in the power of KaleidaCare and feels her honesty in the ‘education’ process is essential to working with child and family service agencies. Through past work experiences in Juvenile Probation, Hospice & School Social Work, Jenna wanted to change her focus from a micro to a macro level of social change and did so by joining KaleidaCare leaving her LMSW degree to take a direct service break. Although she misses working with children, she knows by helping agencies become more efficient, secure their funding and prove their outcomes, more children and families can be helped in long run.

Jenna is quick to inform us about Vanderbilt sports triumphs, and travels frequently to spend time with her family in Florida. She also brought Penny Lane, a rescue fox hound, into KaleidaCare as the office mascot.

Paul Difani, Director of Information Technology

Without sounding trivial, Paul’s job really is to keep the lights blinking and to keep our customers’ data safe. With his 18 years of experience and Computer Science major from the University of Texas at San Antonio, he has to constant measure the needs of our customers and needs of the developers to keeping our software safe, available and quick. A former motocross champion, Paul now gets his kicks from helping make world class security and performance possible for even the smallest child and family agency.

Matthew Sigman, Software Architect

Matt is the project lead for Solutions7, the upcoming release of KaleidaCare software, and has been with KaleidaCare since 2007. Currently a Master's candidate in Software Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, with an undergraduate Computer Science degree from Texas State. He oversees new projects to ensure our high standards are met and coordinates development efforts to maximize consistency. He places a particular emphasis on usability and performance – making Solutions7 as intuitive and simple to use as possible.

In his spare time Matt enjoys tinkering with American muscle cars, and when the fumes haven’t overwhelmed him (or maybe once they have), he designs our holiday-themed login screens.

Jeremy Slatton

Jeremy is KaleidaCare’s billing expert and constantly advancing his knowledge. In addition to undergraduate degrees from North Carolina State and a graduate degree from Texas State, Jeremy has four certifications in Healthcare Financial Management and Health Information Management & Systems – and there will likely be a new one by the time you read this. With experience in running hospital billing departments, Jeremy drives the design and coding of KaleidaCare’s billing system to keep us in line with best practices.
